Adding Images Into A WordPress Website

I recommend WordPress for my clients that want to have either a blog or a full-service website for their business.  WordPress has evolved since it began in 2003 to become the premier website framework with now over 200 million websites using it’s software.  As part of an ongoing WordPress Tutorial Series, this short video is about how to add an image into your WordPress blog or website.  As an IT consultant and marketing specialist, I like the easy-to-use control panel which allows me to instruct my clients who are new to websites/blogging on how to easily add new content on their own.  I tell my clients that if they can use MS Office Word, then they can add articles to their own website.  That is extremely empowering to my clients, especially those who had considered themselves not very tech-savvy.  After seeing how easy it is in this video, you can continue adding/editing more images throughout your WordPress site using the same basic method shown here.  There are advanced editing tools and techniques available which will allow for more creative control, but for most WordPress users, these basics are more than sufficient to create a great looking post in a short amount of time.

Nice video. I tried to use Joomla (but it was too confusing), so I just started using WordPress for my personal blog. I just wish WordPress would make the formatting easier when using their visual editor.

Matt, I know what you mean – I have used Joomla and Drupal (other blogging software) but always returned to using WordPress. Plus, WordPress has a bigger community of users which makes getting help very easy for beginners and advanced users alike. Have you tried the TinyMCE Advanced visual editor? It adds a bunch of great style & formatting features to the existing visual editor. Give it a try, I think it will make formatting your posts much easier.
